I believe they have recently upgraded them to version 2 that now has a more secure locking mechanism. If you want to be able to fire the 560 off camera without having to fire your pop up flash at the same time you'd need to invest in a set of cheap manual radio triggers like the Yongnuo 603's. This mode ignores the ETTL preflash from your onboard flash and fires with the later actual exposure burst. If your pop up is being fired in ETTL mode you would set the 560II in S2 optical slave mode. In this mode, as long as you had line of sight between the two flash units the 560 would fire whenever the pop up flash fired. The only way to fire it from your built in pop up flash is to set it in one of its two optical slave modes. The 560II is a manual flash that can not be controlled by the built in flash on your 600D.
